Where to get the Camera Shakify Addon

You can get the Camera Shakify add-on on Github . Click the green button, and click download zip. It is always good to check if there are newer versions and to read instructions.

This camera lets you get that Ian Hubart sytyle camera shaking easily.  I've tried to replicate his style by using the graph editor and using the noise modifer, but with out much success.  But this plugin really helped.

I was able to make a little demo of this plugin using a free motorcycle object and some textures from blender kit.    I didn't even have to go into the graph editor at all.   The best part, the amount of shaking is keyframable on the timeline.  So I was able to make some keyframes to turn that off and on, and the result is pretty good.  Here are two videos I uploaded to Youtube, one with the camera shakify and one with out. Notice the parts that I keyframed the plugin influence to low levels, not zero.  I noticed if I used zero the resulting animation didn't look right, compared to the rest of the shaky video. (So when the camera looks up at the bike, and when it flies over the bike  I used a low of .13 and a high of .7 before transitioning to  another keyframe of 1 to transition from no shaking to shaking.  Spacing out the low number keyframes helped transition the effect.  It also added random motion of the camera even with the shot of the drone parented to the camera dolly rig. (first shot).

Here is the demo without the plugin:

Here is the demo with Camera Shakify:

The interface is on the right side under camera properties, and the amount of shaking they called influence.  So 1 is on and 0 is off, and all inbetween. the size of the shaking is scale and speed makes the shaking either slow or jittery fast.  The frame offset I think starts the shaking a little before or after your keyframe.   You can also look at the graph editor to see the shaky motion.

I recommend this plugin for adding a lot of realism to your camera shots.  Just don't over do it.  Lower the scale and influence so there is just some extra camera movement.  Great for hand held like shots. Or a floating droid robot.
